The prizes are like the last time, gift cards so you can save up and get things that you actually pick out yourself from "The Olde Horse Shoppe". I still hope to be able to stock stuff up in there but sadly a low level in drawing is making it a bit hard. In the doc linked in the Shoppe journal I have lists on things I plan to do - so check out that in case you want to save up for something. There is no rush to get things - they have always full stock!

You might also be able to trade with others, check that out in the Discord channel as well. Be sure to visit the Shoppe journal to see what you need to do to claim items (and dont forget you need to submit your giftcard number (Link).

Trophys etc can be found in the Pemberley Park Group gallery.

You can see a plain resultlist below. Ive done a prettier one (sort of) in Google doc;

  • Resultsheet can be seen HERE

  • Fancyresult paper HERE

Each winner image will also reccive 10 fragments (quartz gem) for as long as I have some fragments to give as well as being added to the featured folder.

As always, if you spot any errors, feel free to note or contact me on discord (through the group chat) about it. I do my best to double check but its very easy to slip. This also goes if you have questions about anything.

I will more than likely take another bit of time off from hosting event at Pemberley (officially at least). I dont know what draws people, what people want to compete in. I know Im bad at "pushing" and making the event(s) known. If you have any ideas feel free to share <3

I might have something that might it feel a bit new and fresh but we will see. This event is number 18 so perhaps its time for a bit of a change of how things has been run.

Thank you to all that have made Pemberley what it is <3 couldnt have done it without you all!

Now, onto the results!

Pemberley Park - ComicCon

“Let your inner hero shine through”

=================================================

Running: 1 July - 30 Sep 2023

Event Type: Mixed (Western, English, Misc)

Class/Classes: Showjumping, Dressage, Western + extra.

Restrictions: There are TWO divisions. These will however technically NEVER meet at Pemberley Park.

# Realistic - semi realistic Division. Donkeys/Mules are allowed! Some minor fantasy factors are ok but for most part the horse/equine must look "natural" (ie no bright unnatural colors, wings, fangs, horns etc), please ask if unsure.

# Fantasy Division - Anything fantasy equine goes, all unrealistic colors/markings are ok, wings, fangs, horns etc, however no 'fantasy features' can be used as an advantage (this includes flight, magic etc). These will be in their own classes. Please mark it out - thank you!

Grab bags

Will be found HERE!

This is symbolizing your luck roll (RNG) - these are prerolled. While the items you get inside are not doing anything, the hope is that you might get a smile out of them and perhaps something for your characters to enjoy! Remember - I wont hunt you down for you to pick your item! Its up to you! You get to pick one per character/class you enter. Also, including some sort of story/action in your grab bag comment might mean that you get a short RP reply. More info on the Grabbag link!

Note: If for some reason the grab bags are running out (like over 85% is taken and it's over a month left to enter), I will prepare a second list that only will be put up when the first is all filled.

Additional Bonus

You can choose between two different ways to achieve the bonus, either in art or literature. However you can just pick ONE of these and only for ONE of your entries. Different from before is that the ways will differ. One event will be art, the next might be literature.

+5 points to max ONE ENTRY. You need to clearly mark this out in your entry.

Art Challenge: Comic Style

Comics or “drawn stories” often have a distinct style. Some styles are more known than others.

The styles you can choose from when doing ONE of your Effort entries are the following: Simpsons, My Little Pony, Tim Burton, Disney, and Pokémon. I have tried to pick from the more known ones.

If you want more of a challenge, feel free to pick the one (of these 5) you would normally not do. If you want it easier, pick the style that is closest to your normal style.

Don't forget to also note in your details/form that you want to use the bonus. +5 Extra points to ONE entry.

REMEMBER! It needs to be a MAIN entry - no bonus or RNG image! You are of course allowed to use the prompt/s for more than one entry, but it will be needed to mark out what entry you want it to count for. Otherwise I will go with the first one you enter that uses the prompt.

Sponsor

Adding a sponsor's banner in the background or included in more than just a mention will earn you +1p in judging. You can find the NPC banners under Resources or HERE.

RNG Entries

You are allowed to enter a max number of 10 RNG entries per event. You can place these 10 entries however you like in the RNG classes in the event. RNG entries will only receive half the YEA points per entry per event to make it more fair against Effort entries.

STICK FIGURE OPTION

Drawing stick figures are an option for ALL RNG CLASSES! RNG entries must be separated and cannot be put all on one "sheet" (excludes events such as 3DE where multiple images of one rider/horse combos are required; this information will be stated). This is to ensure swift and proper judging. This also encourages the spirit of Pemberley: a place for all riders and horses of various skill levels but still taking place in a prestigious event.

NUMBER OF RIDERS/HORSES IN A IMAGE

A single player can include two of their riders/horses in one image max IF the situation calls for it. When it comes to collaborations the max is 3 people with 3 pairs of rider/horse max each. Each collaborator needs to have done an equal part in the image/text.

LITERATURE OPTION

Are you more of a writer? That is totally fine! You can find the link to the judging matrix for literature in the resource (google) document.

How to enter - Add & Register!

To “properly” submit to a event at Pemberley Park I ask of you to do the following:

You submit your entries by submitting your entry through the Google Form that is linked in the CURRENT show journal, as well as to the Pemberley Park groups Favorites Showfolder marked with the name of the show. If not in the form, it won't be judged (sorry) - the show have grown (thank you) it just takes too much time to write by hand).

You don't have to be a member of the Pemberley Park group - but you are very welcome to join if you so like! You really help me by using the google form + your barn/stable/stud will be in the running for an award at Pemberley’s YEA at the end of the year!

If it's a collaboration, each person need to submit through the form!

So in short - to enter - do the following

# Register your entry by FORM:

By using the form you help me log entries a WHOLE lot faster!! <3 (and your

stable is in the Star Stable award running)

If you have multiple characters in the same entry EACH has to be filled in the

form. You can't just write “many” on the same line.

# Add your entry in the CURRENT SHOWs Favorite Folder HERE # NO Stash submissions please

Please - also make sure to include the following information in your entry's description.

You can remove the lines that do not apply to you. It help me a lot if you keep it like this <3

If you have multiple entries in one image/text, EACH need to have this information!

=========================================

Stable/Stud name: (Name of the stable/stud, country your rider rides for - if any) Rider name: (Please provide a link to riders reference if they have one.) Riders age: (AGE::: <19 or younger = Youth, 20> = Adult) Horse name: (Please provide a link to horse reference if they have one.) Horse gender: (GENDER - Stallion/Gelding/Mare) Horse age: (Age) Class: (Class) Level: (IF RNG - only enter level if the class tell you to) Please provide a link to horse/riders references (as a link!) in your entry if they have one. Previous Exp: Link AND placement (even if it has been at Pemberley Park <3) Within the year of the event. (So shows from this time last year)

----

DON'T FORGET THE GRAB BAG

I won't chase you around to get your grab bag.

Any extras, images etc, previous experience has to be listed and linked in the main entry, if not there they won't count (sorry). Thank you!

=========================================

I have decided to leave it a bit open when the class takes place. This way you can decide (in a way) what kind of weather your character will ride in (and not just where).

Pemberley Park Map

Be sure to check the map (and the weather!!) There you can find listed arenas for Jumping, Dressage and Western. You are free to decide what arena you want to compete in (as some prefer outdoor competitions over indoors), however a Jumping class can only take place in a jumping arena, Dressage only in the dressage arenas, endurance and cross country in the XC area etc. Classes that don't have an obvious place will have it written out.

It should however be believable that you are at Pemberley Park. Even if it's just with some proper themed details (a Pemberley Park flag for example). While there might be hills there are no mountains. Don't forget to check the weather/season.

Pemberley Park sign - big

The third Pemberley Park Year End Award have been tallied and here is the result. Thank you to all of you that have sent your riders and horses to Pemberley Park during 2022. There was some split placings technically, but to separate the one with the most entries got the win. They were all also the same level so it was the most 'just' I felt I could make it. Til next year (ie YEA 2023) there will be some changes. I feel that the YEA is to be creme de la creme so there probably wont be for any RNG enteries, but they can get their own little award. Im not sure how to do that yet. Not all things are up yet but check back in the gallery for pick ups.

Big congrats again to all winners! If you need it for storylines the Pemberley Park YEA always have a fancy ceremony after the last event of the year (2022 it was just normal fancy, no special theme unless you count "Shining Star" as one) to spoil winners (and nonwinners) a bit extra at the Pemberley Manor.

You can find all results here.

There was a small and brave group that entered this time - thank you <3 All was also alone in the classes entered so it was a direct 1st placement (=no judging). Of course it would have been fun to see more interaction but perhaps it wasnt the right time? I would love to hear your thoughts to perhaps make it a better (and interactive) turnout next time.

The prizes are like the last time, gift cards so you can save up and get things that you actually pick out yourself from "The Olde Horse Shoppe". I STILL hope (to have enough umph in me) to be able to stock stuff up in there. Luckily there are no enddate on these cards ;) In the doc linked in the Shoppe journal I have lists on things I plan to do - so check out that in case you want to save up for something.

Due to the finicky nature of Eclipse its just a very plain resultlist below. Ive done a prettier one (sort of) in Google doc;

  • Resultsheet can be seen HERE

  • Fancyresult paper HERE

Each winner image have reccive a "Goldcoin" as well as being added to the featured folder.

As always, if you spot any errors, feel free to note or contact me on discord (through the group chat) about it. I do my best to double check but its very easy to slip. This also goes if you have questions about anything.

There will be a slight pause with Pemberley Park Events. Ive been doing them nonstop every 3 months (more often at the start, this was event 17) since 2019 and I want to take a short breather before I run on red/fumes etc etc. I really want Pemberley Park to be a fun place and Ive felt that perhaps a little break is needed for you guys too? As mentioned - I would love to hear your ideas. I wont be offended if you dislike something. I can try to alter some bits but I hope this will be a place we ALL like :) I do have some ideas I might go with but again. I will probably take some time not doing a event and perhaps finally catch up with actually making something more for the shoppe etc.

Thank you to all that have been a part of Pemberley this far - dont forget you are all STARS!

The YEA will be posted shortly.

Welcome

Forget the 12 days of festivities of Christmas! For the year's final event there are no 3 days of just showing off in competition planned, oh no, try more in the means of what comes before that showing off. Instead, riders can look forward (?) to hard, sweaty grind (in public no less) as well!

Although, Santos is probably more than happy to add some of that ‘seasonal cheer’ to the clinic. After hours...of course! And obviously for those with the right age for it. Not that Santos is beyond fun games and making up mischief together with the kids during the day. (Will Darcy come to regret this? Will Santa have new people to add to his naughty list? Who knows....who...knows...)

The clinic, whose aim is to be rewarding for both small and big stars (but mainly to form a foundation for young riders, hence lower levels), will run for 5 days, ending with a showday - however in a more relaxed and noncompetitive way than the events at Pemberley Park normally feels like (yet a chance to get to know how it's like and at a big scene type of setting). In the evening (of the fifth day) the attendees will also have a chance to attend the usual Pemberley Year End Award ceremony (so don't forget to bring the ticket, some fancy dresses and suits packed as well as your best behavior... Looking at you Santos).

For the clinics ‘schooling days’ the entire park will be closed for visitors and be available to the attendees disposal alone.

Housing

Participants will be living in the ‘Derwent Cabins’ (see Pemberley Park map). These are located just by the Derwent river on the map. These little cabins are cozy any time of year. There are two options to choose from.

# Three Bedroom (Odd numbers): these can house up to 3-9 guests. House 1 is occupied.

# Five-Bedroom (Even numbers): If you need more space this may be the option for you as these can house 5-12 guests comfortably. The park's schooling staff will be at hand for classes (both practical and theoretical).

Loan schooling horses

Acetoma and Ridgerunner have been kind enough to offer some of their horses to this event. The horses have been divided into two groups, Junior/Novices and Senior/Experienced. The reason for these groups is so that young/not so experienced riders get to learn from an experienced horse, and vice versa for the Senior/Experienced riders vs an inexperienced horse. You need to sign up to be able to pick one of these, first come - first serve (see above)

Junior/Novices are riders up to 19 years OR Newly created rider characters in this age group that don't have ANY or very little fictional experience, ie Novice level.

Roger That, Kenny! LW - 3DE experience | 10yo, Mare | Morozov Warmblood

MR Boyish Charm - SJ experience| 14yo, Stallion | KWPN

|A| Affaire d’Amour - 3DE experience | 16yo, Stallion | Thoroughbred |A| BRS Xavier - 3DE experience | 7yo, Stallion | Zlesdin

NRR Poptart - SJ/Dressage experience | 15yo, Gelding | Pony Cross

|A| Lumenier - Jumping experience | 17yo, Gelding | Hannoverian

|A| Harvest Moon - Western experience | 12yo , Gelding | American Paint Horse

Senior/Experienced are riders from 19 years+ OR Newly created rider characters in this age group that has a fictional experience of at least intermediate level and above.

|A| Wyoming - Endurance experience | 14yo, Mare | Mustang

|A| Mouse - Western/Hunter experience | 12yo, Stallion | American Paint Horse

How to participate/enter the clinic

The big aim for this clinic is to promote roleplay and collaboration in the community of HARPG.

You have the option to participate in three different ways;

  • Bring your own horse/s to train and compete with

  • Borrow a veteran (or youngster) to train and compete with

OR

  • Swap with your horse with another participant

See more information below!

To enter the clinic you need to do the following

  • At least one clinic image. this can be effort (+4p) or in Pemberley’s “normal” RNG entry Stickfigure style (+2p) submission

This + any extra clinic images (max 4 in total) will count as “Extra Art”, in other words these optional three can also be either effort or stickfigure style. You can also do the extras as literature instead. The WordCount (WC) NEED to be stated, 400WC: +2p; 500+WC, +4p.

WC below 400 won't count, sorry.

  • One Show image - this needs to be an effort type image. It will be judged according to the normal “effort image” matrix.

Rules

The rules this time are slightly different than normal.

  • Entries are this time around limited to natural coloured equines (ie horses and donkeys) only. Usermade breeds are acceptable so long as they follow equine colors for the most part - mutations are permitted so long as they are "natural" coloured. Don't hesitate to ask if you are unsure.

  • All art must be made for this event. No premade backgrounds, photo backgrounds or pre-made linearts are permitted.

  • Tracing is allowed. Credit all stock providers, and references. If no reference was used, then please state so.

  • Ridden horses must be over 3 years old. Riders must be old enough to ride unaccompanied at all paces.

  • Clinic entries will not be judged per say - they are for participation, bonus points, and story purposes. I will however be looking for some sort of a “red thread” in your story/art, as well as a learning curve of your character, big or small, regarding the equineside or a personal thing.

  • The Showimage must be coloured at a minimum, or shaded in the case of traditional entries.

  • If your mount is a “loaner” - please ensure that the owner is okay with anything you do - ask before causing injuries etc.

  • Only one class can be entered on the final showday.

  • Riders can enter a maximum of 4 different clinics and a maximum of 2 per day. These will count as bonus images/extra art (see matrix).*

*Aside from these bonus points, you can also get some extra points from Santa Santos that will go towards your showimage.

Information Desk

Here you can find documents etc with information you might need/find interesting to know. Also added are the purses used for Pemberley Park. For a guide on how I judge, check out the judging matrix link above.

Grab bags

Will be found with Santa Santos HERE! (Be wary of (eco-friendly) glitter bombs!!)

This is symbolizing your luck roll (RNG) - these are prerolled. While the items you get inside are not doing anything, the hope is that you might get a smile out of them and perhaps something for your characters to enjoy! Remember - I wont hunt you down for you to pick your item! Its up to you!

You get to pick one per character/clinic + show class you enter. Also, including some sort of story/action in your grab bag comment might mean that you get a short RP reply.

Note: If for some reason the grab bags are running out (like over 85% is taken and it's over a month left to enter), I will prepare a second list that only will be put up when the first is all filled.

Additional Bonus

Doing more than one clinic image, see above.

Adding a sponsor's banner in the background or with literature that includes more than just a mention of the name (perhaps your character went shopping and got something from the sponsor etc) will earn you +1p in judging. You can find the NPC banners under Resources or HERE.

Prizes

Who knows what Darcy have planned?

Santos on the other hand will give out his own awards and titles. Here are some titles that might be given out;

Peacock Award - For biggest show off

Champagne Award - For Most Sparkling Personality

Running With The Bulls Award - For Biggest Risktaker

Clinic and Showimage

To “properly” submit to a event at Pemberley Park I ask of you to do the following:

  • Submit your SHOW ENTRY by submitting it through the Google Form that is linked in the CURRENT show journal, as well as to the Pemberley Park groups Favorites folder marked with the name of the event. If not in the form, it won't be judged (sorry).

  • Any CLINIC IMAGE/TEXT that will count towards extra points need to be LINKED in the SHOW ENTRY. They can be submitted to the Favorite Folder too but to make it easier for me I ask for them to be linked in the show entry as well.

You don't have to be a member of the Pemberley Park group - but you are very welcome to join if you so like! You really help me by using the google form + your barn/stable/stud will be in the running for an award at Pemberley’s YEA at the end of the year!

Events

Pemberley Park Map

Be sure to check the map (and the weather!!) There you can find listed arenas for Jumping, Dressage and Western. You are free to decide what arena you want to train/compete in (as some prefer outdoor competitions over indoors), however when it come to the showday a Jumping class can only take place in a jumping arena, Dressage only in the dressage arenas, endurance and cross country in the XC area etc. Classes that don't have an obvious place will have it written out.

It should however be believable that you are at Pemberley Park. Even if it's just with some proper themed details (a Pemberley Park flag for example). While there might be hills there are no mountains. Don't forget to check the weather/season.

Day 1

It's totally ok to make up that there are lessons in more than the day the specific clinic is on, either in group or private training. Likewise are other activities around the Park. I can offer to RP with you as Santos, while the other 3 instructors of Pemberley Park (Tonya, Jeffery and Selma) can be used by you as NCPs. Let me know if you have any questions about their reactions to certain things. If you have questions regarding Lukas and Caroline you have to contact @acetoma.

Weather Report

Morning (Time ca 9-): Cloudy, 23 °F

Noon (Time ca 12-): Heavy Snow, 21 °F

Evening (Time ca 17-): Light Snow, 19 °F

*Morning*

Welcome gathering in the conference room at the Media center.

It's here the theory lessons and film screening are to be shown. Some parts of the lessons will be filmed, and each person will get input on their riding progress and what could be improved on (if you would want to use this as a plotpoint for your own stories and character development for example. If not, your character got all flying colors and A+).

Short presentation of instructors, meet and greet with participants, handing out of cabin keys and other good to know information. In the (fictional) entry fee meals and such are included and in the welcome packet ‘tickets’ are handed out so your character can choose to eat in any of the restaurants and what not located in the park. The first evening dinner however is to be had at the Media center with a huge “Smörgåsboard” of all kinds of food as well as desserts.

Invited in teachers/instructors

Western 101

Horses used and bred for cattle work often depend and do much of the work by using their mind. Sometimes it can be hard to balance letting your horse do their job and staying safe and controlled in the saddle. In this clinic, Santos Camacho will help attendees to trust their horse and stay out of their way, while remaining safe and controlled in the saddle. This class is designed to help people of varying levels, and people who are trying out cattle work for the first time are welcome to attend. Instruction will be primarily cutting and sorting based.

Both horse and rider will gain experience and confidence in their cattle work abilities and will learn to work better as a team during the event. Participants will also have time for one-on-one instruction with Santos after the group lesson, and he is happy to be a resource throughout the event if anyone has any questions.
