ArtAuction 4 studs and a Lady

I need to sort out what I want to do with my HARPG barn and I think these deserve a home where they get to do something. Some fun new colors for your barn perhaps?



Bidding Instructions:

1. All entries must be NOTED to me before the end date of the auction (End of februari 2013)
2. Entries must be uploaded to Deviant Art to count.
3. You must link to my auction journal in the bid.


Information/Rules:

Violation of the following rules will remove your entry from the auction.
- One Horse Per Entry – art intended to try for two horses in one picture will be rejected.
- Complete the Information - All information needs to be completed according to the sheet below.
- Max 2 Bids per Person – You may submit two piece of art to try for a maximum two horses, any beyond this limit will be rejected
- No Guarantees – Even if you are the only bidder, there is no guarantee of winning if you do not make the Minimum Point Value (10 pts)
- No Tracing – entries must show SOME effort at originality.
- Full Body ALWAYS trumps Headshots – Full body pictures WILL win over headshots EVERY time.
- Stories are GOOD - Bids with stories will be considered over those with no story.
- These horses have raced or was breed to produce racehorses, the vast majority come from racing bloodlines, so stables with intent to use their lines for racing will be given preference. HOWEVER I can always be swayed if art and story is good, convince me - they can do both after all. They can also be aged.
- Do Not Complain - Complaining about who wins will not be tolerated, and you will be banned from all future auctions. Show some maturity and don't whine if you lose to someone else.


The Judging:

All entries will be judged on a graded point system. This system, I'm at least partially sure, is similar to that used by a myriad of people on DA, particularly in my circle of friends.
Basically, entries are given a base 30 points to start. A large number of factors can increase or decrease the value of the entry according to the severity of the infraction or the exceptional excellence of a particular piece.

Key Points:

Realism – Genetics, Career and Story wise, etc.
Attention to Detail – Accuracy of reproduction of the Auction Horse: Markings, personality, etc.
Effort – Original Art, Story, etc.


Please fill this out for each auction bid...much of the genetic information and pedigree is available on the horse auction sheets. Feel free to flesh out the personality...anything that make your bid stand out...can only be a plus!

Temperament: Goof are a horse with just that - "Goof". He constantly moves around like a famous dressage horse (he especially did this in the post parades) and loves to be the star. The stallion loves attention so much that he seems to assume that everyone knows who he is. Almost like those TV-stars that got their 15-min of fame in the line to THE new hip night club. Only the best are good enough for him. Just don't dare offering some saggy carrots! It shall be s'mores and a lot of them! Goof made a more than perfect racing career but a small number of minor injuries were in the end that led to his retirement. It was more of a safety thing than lack of talent; the stallion would have been able to race til the sky fell down but it was decided that he would go on to hopefully produce new champions instead of risk a fatal breakdown. He has a wonderful smooth gait and would probably suit to be a sporthorse sire as well.
