Description

She had a faint memory of spring, almost summer and what supported that memory were her clothes. There was nothing that she could do to make the clothes she had on to more fitting for this weather. The icy cold went through her and it was hard not to shiver. It didn't help she had wrapped one of those bags around her after she had opened up it up pulling that weird thing down the middle of it. When she first did it she thought it had broken but then it was just as easy to pull up again, every time it did a ‘vrrr’ sound. Very strange. Shifting slightly she tried not to think about the cold, she had to be still...the evening crept closer and some animals would seek shelter. The tracks had been many here, sooner or later something was bound to show up. A wind stroked her hair out of her face. She shivered, she wasn't entirely sure when in the season it was and even less where she was. There was snow, but it could just as well be the start of winter as well as early spring. The landscape reminded her of her homeland but she wasn't certain. She only knew she had to survive some how, if now the spirits had given her a second chance. She saw a movement, something white moved. Slowly she raised her arm and pulled back, inhaled and waited for the right moment. As soon as she let the spear go she grimaced, it was a bad throw, the hare had noted her just as she threw the spear. If she hadn't been so hungry she would have waited for it to come closer or even waited for another to come, it was a wellused trail after all.

The spear hit the hare in the gut and it would eventually kill it from blood loss, but she had prefered a more clean direct hit. She tried not to hear it's small screams as she limped after it. The spirits knew she had to hunt, that she had to eat! She didn't mean for it to suffer like this. They had to know she would give them their share as soon as she could! She had been so focused on the hare that she failed to see the thin pillars of smoke that rose to the sky above. It wasn't until she had put the animal out of it's suffering and whispering the words of her thanks to the hare spirit, as she heard a howl that made her look up.

There were gers, several of them, and some people coming outside... Her eyes grew slightly as large wolflike creatures was coming towards her, fast. Far from any shelter or tree to climb she knew there was no point in running either. If anything that would only trigger an attack. Besides she couldn't run as fast anymore. She sank down to her knees to prevent that a more upright posture might come off as more of a threat. As the ‘wolves’ came closer she saw that they were even bigger than she had thought as they towered over her. It was four of them and like she had been a wounded caribou they quickly surrounded her. As she moved to remove some pressure to her hip, one of them growled at her.

Bowing her head she closed her eyes and waited. She could still hear and sense them as they moved around her in the snow. She focused on breathing slowly and made her heart calm as well. If she could feel them like she did now, they most likely felt her the same way. If it was possible she had to convince them that she meant no danger. Voices told her that the people she had seen was coming closer. Her heart began to beat in a faster pace, and a warning growl was heard behind her as she moved.

Part 1
Through the loop of time and back again P.1A gasp, coming from someone who have been trapped deep underneath unable to breathe. A deep breath is taken, then another. The woman's eyes moves quickly under the closed eyelids. Her body moves restlessly in her sleep, turning from side to side. Her lips mumbles words, then just a little louder, words of warning. Limbs move slightly as images is flashed before her eyes. Dreams...or where they memories? Memories from another time, another place. They haunted her still.
It was a mental blow as well as a physical one. Kayuqtuq...he was the one that had brought the evil upon the tribe! It couldn't be so! He who had been so understanding when her mother died, and then her brother. The feelings he said he felt for her, the talk he wanted to have with her father. All those plans for their life together... Were they all lies? Had she been led astray,  blinded by his face, the light of his soul. Had it all been just a magic cloak to hide his true nature? Kayuqtuq, he must have kept the lo

Part 2
Through the loop of time and back again P.2How much time had gone by when she saw the first glimmering light? She had lost time and space in the dark, in the silence. She felt herself getting dragged towards it, drifting, passing others, faceless, nameless, creatures big and small, swirling slow at first but then faster and faster - towards the light. The silence turned into a soft chant, but it was not as steady as she was used to. It was hesitating, the words strangely spoken and the beat of the drum sounded odd and...trapped? Closer and closer she comes to the light, forcing her to squint her eyes. It became even stronger, almost like a rising sun. There was like a suction like she passed through something tight, just like the time she pulled up that big fat salmon from the hole in the ice that was just big enough for it to go through. She fell down hard on her bad hip, stunning her just slightly, the icy cold was around her again but with one difference. She could breathe!
Greedily she takes a gasping breath, coughs up some

Part 3
Through the loop of time and back again P.3When she opened her eyes, she saw something blue that moved slightly to the movement of the wind outside. Was it that sound that had woken her? It was more blue than the sky on a cloudless day. Perhaps it was even more blue than thick ice. It was more like it had some other color in it...like...the color of a blueberry, before you had squashed the sweet tasting berry between your lips. Like the thought of it alone would have brought one to her lips, her tongue came out. Her lips were dry, like she had been out in the cold for too long. Blinking towards the light she sat up slowly. It was a tent. A odd blue tent, not one made out of sewed together hides, double layered to keep those inside it warm and safe. She couldn't remember she crept in here. Nor what she pulled closer to get warmer. Still looking up noting there were no firehole, her hand grasped something soft under her fingers but it was not fur she felt. It felt like very smooth hide without fur, almost like the feeling of a fi

Part 4
Through the loop of time and back again P.4Time. She had almost lost track of it. Days had melted together into something she could just describe as many. She had been happy to find that she still had her medicinebag attached to her waist as well as her sharpened tusk knife. It wasn't much in the bag however she noted with sadness, just enough herbs for her to make some nutritious tea in the mornings. There was none of those small cakes mixed with chopped meat, fat and some berries. Tea was only thing that filled out her belly and warmed her some, the strange items she had found had lasted her for some days but sooner rather than later she had ate them all. They hadn't kept her going as the travel cakes she now longed for. The tent had been odd and nothing she had been able to take with her. The very, very thin sticks they had used as support had turned out to be as springy as young birch saplings. They were neatly in sections but they sprung up again as soon as she had folded them. She ended up with only taking two of the colo
